Privacy
Wimapedia works without an account: your profile then stays in your own browser. If you log in with Discord, your profile is also saved on wimapedia.com so you can use it on every device. This page explains exactly what that means.
Without logging in
Everything you fill in stays in your browser's own storage on your device. Nothing is sent to wimapedia.com, except when you press Send to Ima on the profile page yourself. Anyone using the same browser on that device sees it too; on a shared device, press Clear on the profile page when you are done, or log in so Log out removes it.
What is stored when you log in
- From Discord: your Discord user id, your display name and your avatar picture code. We ask Discord only for "identify". We never see your e-mail address, your password, your servers or your messages.
- Your Wimapedia profile: what you fill in on My profile and the item pages (game name, server, research, gear, Modify, plugins, modules and so on) and the ticks on your checklist.
- Progress per day: on each day you save a change, a few numbers (total power, troop stats, research %, Modify level, plugin stars, module levels) for the progress chart on your home page.
- Older versions: the last 20 versions of your profile, so a mistake or a clash between two devices can be undone.
- Your login: a random code in a cookie (
wimapedia_s) that keeps you logged in for 30 days. On the server only a scrambled copy (hash) of it is kept. - Abuse protection: a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address, kept for at most one day, to limit how often logins and saves can happen.
Why
Only to run Wimapedia for you: keep your profile on every device and work out your recommendations. Nothing is sold, shared with other players or used for advertising. The site owner, Søta Ima, can look at stored profiles (game name and server, not your Discord name) to check numbers and improve Wimapedia, the same as when you press Send to Ima.
Where
On Ima's web hosting at STRATO in Germany (EU). Logging in goes through Discord, which has its own privacy policy.
Download or delete your data
When you are logged in, open the menu under your name at the top right:
- Download my data gives you everything stored for your account as one file.
- Log out saves your last change to your account and removes the profile from this browser, so a shared device keeps nothing. Log in again to get it back.
- Delete my account removes your Discord id, your profile, all older versions and your logins from wimapedia.com straight away. The copy in your own browser stays until you clear it on the profile page.
Accounts that nobody has logged in to for two years are deleted.
